Provided the AMI with an extensive economic impact model of all aspects of the meat processing industry at both the state and congressional district levels. Created interactive talking point generation website for use by corporate affairs staff and the general public.
Air Transport Association:
Constructed extensive interstate model of jet fuel purchases, including cross-border or “bunkering” estimates. Created an interactive system to calculate the impact of higher jet fuel taxes on sales and cross border flows throughout the US.
Best Friends Animal Society:
Developed extensive model of canine ownership patterns across communities in the United States. Provided research on the fiscal impact of Breed Specific Laws on municipal governments. Developed talking points and presentation materials.

MillerCoors:
Served as economists to the Government Affairs function of the nation’s second largest brewing group. Provided extensive analysis on the impact of facilities on communities, the impact of taxes and regulations on beer prices and sales, and on employment in national and state legislative districts.
Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America:
Served as economists to the WSWA, providing economic impact analysis, cross-border sales analysis, analysis of the impact of excise tax and regulatory tax changes on the industry. Provided the association with talking points and presentation materials.
Wegmans Food Markets:
Provided extensive analysis on the economic impact of the granting of beer and wine licenses to Wegmans’ Cafes in 6 stores in Pennsylvania. Served as expert witness in Liquor Control Board hearings. Wegmans was granted licenses for all stores.


 

Don't Cry for Me Argentina


With the passage of President Obama’s health care act, the federal government has embarked on yet another large scale spending program. This, along with other stimulative measures undertaken by the Federal government and the once independent Federal Reserve continue to set the stage for a massive currency readjustment and run up in inflation.

The economists in control at both the Fed and in the White House all suggest that there is zero threat of inflation since the economy has a huge amount of surplus capacity. While it is true that there may be unused capital and labor in the economy, this often has little if anything to do with inflation.

Power Cut

The liberal think tank, Center for Budget and Policy Priorities just issued a report entitled, An Update on State Budget Cuts where they suggest that reductions in the growth of state budgets will have a dire effect on communities and the economy. 

But as Paul McCartney says in the song Power Cut, “And the candles burn down low, but something inside of me says the bad news isn't so.”

Busted

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its projections for Federal spending, revenues and the deficit for fiscal years 2010 through 2019. 

Over this period, the Federal debt is projected to increase by an additional $6.7 trillion; from an already staggering $12,302,465,487,917 (Yes the Federal Reserve tracks it to the penny.)
